Amygdala

Yesterday's Morning.
A poetic film on fear, the Earth and the world's memory.

Fog texture

"Somewhere, all the cries and screams of pain and sorrow must go when the great silence arises after wars."

What remains is the mute, blood-stained earth. Through Emission Spectroscopy, we translate the light frequencies of this soil into sound.

The soil of Ukraine, accompanied by the unique earth sounds of 200 countries. A call for insight, community, and reconciliation.

A work emerging from an international project initiated in 1993 – conceived by leif.e.boman and Aicha Boman.

What began as a vision has evolved into a global collaboration uniting people and soils from more than two hundred countries through sound and music.

Each nation contributes its own voice, its identity, its resonance.
Together, they compose an emotional map of humanity.

It is this collective force – a shared emotional pulse – that has made “AMYGDALA” possible.

The work has been created in close collaboration with:

  • Bohdana Frolyak, a Ukrainian composer
  • Patrick Chartol, audiovisual artist, music producer – France
  • leif.e.boman, sound artist and composer – Sweden

Together, they shape an artistic expression where the voices of the world meet, merge, and become something greater than any one of us.

This… is “Amygdala”

A reflection on the ongoing war of aggression in Ukraine
